Who We Are
Unity For Equality was founded in 2016 in response to critical issues raised around the tremendous barriers to social services, social justice, and economic life faced by New York City’s fast growing diverse communities.

What We Do
We champion healthcare access for all, support our seniors thrive, prepare community members for jobs through language and computer education, provide information on immigration through a legal clinic, enabling access to meals to the unfortunate, develop our youth’s leadership, and engage community members in their civic rights through our programs.
Education
Test Prep courses, language courses, scholarship opportunities, college application preparation, and student loan repayment aid.
Health
Get healthcare coverage, understanding your healthcare plan, access long-term care, and discovering more benefits such as SNAP (Food Stamps), Access-A-Ride, Rental Assistance, Low-Fare Metrocards, and other benefits.
Environment
Advocating for renewable energy, providing clean drinking water, and cleaning up communities.
Finance
Financial counseling, college student debt relief, and unemployment application assistance.
Civic Engagement
Voter registration, knowing your rights, advocating for immigrant rights, ensuring that immigrants are counted in the national census, and hosting forums on issues that matter.
Senior Support Services
Supporting mental health, workshops on senior life, access public benefits, and fostering vibrant communities for our seniors.
Senior Master Sergeant Harold Colbert Scholarship Fund
This scholarship seeks to provide financial assistance to those who have exhibited a genuine passion for higher education, while also embodying the values of Unity For Equality. By investing in the education of promising students, we aim to foster a community of future leaders and innovators who will contribute positively to their fields and make a lasting impact on society.
